Q. Why are these shrimp better than others?

A. Because they are wild caught in their native habitat. No chemical preservatives or antibiotics are added. See Farm Raised Shrimp, or Food and Water Watch

Q. How are your prices compared to others?

A. Check around. We will give you the best prices and service. We believe we have the best prices on the internet. We get good UPS Shipping prices due to the volume we ship.

Note: If you live within 600 miles of our zipcode, 36580, we can deliver to you in our trucks at great prices. Minimum order is 200 pounds.

Q. What about local prices?

A. See Joe the Shrimp Man when you are in the area. He'll give you the best prices, and he's one of the the most convenient locations from Highway 59. Click on the link to the left.

Q. Why do shrimp need to be preserved if they are frozen?

A. The preservation process actually begins when they are caught. The large processing vessels sometimes stay out for weeks at a time. The shrimp will not stay fresh in their ice holds unless chemicals are added.

Q. Why would antibiotics be added?

A. They are not with our shrimp. Many farm raised shrimp have antibiotics added as they are grown in environments different than their wild habitat. Check the links above.

Q. What types of shrimp do you have?

A. We catch brown and white shrimp. There is no difference in their taste.

Q. What does "Super Jumbo", "Jumbo", "Medium", and "Baby Medium", mean?

A. These are simply descriptive sizes that are used in the industry, mostly for marketing purposes. As an example, our "Mediums" are usually called "Jumbos" by others.

Q.Do you have shrimp year round?

A. There are some lapses in the seasons, but we stock up our freezer to make sure we have shrimp available all year. We do not ship any shrimp that have been in our freezer over 30 days. They are not bad, and we use them ourselves, but we want you to have the best.

Q. How are they shipped.

A. We ship in special foam lined boxes and use dry ice. Most orders ship UPS ground. As long as they are cool to the touch, simply refrigerate and use them that day, or put them in the freezer.

Q. Why are IQF (Individually Quick Frozen) shrimp better?

A. The IQF process seals in the flavor. Our shrimp are usually caught at night, and delivered to the docks in the mornings. They go from the boats ice hold to the IQF freezer....then to you!

Q.Do you have all sizes all year?

A. Generally we do. All orders are subject to availability. Sometimes the weather (Hurricanes) disrupt the shrimping process, and we just have to keep searching for the best shrimp.

Q. How are the shrimp sized?

A. They are sized according to how many there are to a pound. As an example, 1 pound of 16-20 would have 16 to 20 shrimp. All sizes are sometimes not available.

Q. What size is best?

A. It depends on what you are going to use them for. The Super Jumbos (U-10) are the best for grilling. The Jumbos (16-20) are great for shrimp cocktails, frying, or peel-n-eat. The mediums (21-25) are the most versatile size. They can be used for peel-n-eat, frying, or in gumbos. The Baby medium size (26-30) is fantastic for gumbos, or salads.

(Q): What is your return policy for Cookwares and Accessories?

(A): We accept returns for a variety of reasons, but no returns will be issued after 30 days. Reasons for returns are as follows:

1. If you receive an item that is damaged or defected, please contact us as soon as possible, and we will either have a replacement product sent to you or provide a full refund.

2. If you need to return a product as a result of our error (i.e., you receive the incorrect product), please contact us by email or phone as soon as possible. Once we have verified your order, we will have the correct product sent to you immediately. We will also contact you to arrange the return of the incorrect item.

3. Returns based on other reasons will be accepted so long as the product is in the original manufacturer’s box. These returns will receive a refund, minus costs for shipping and handling.

4. Returns may be subject to a 15% restocking charge.
